All-Star Training Club (ATC) was established to provide an integrated sports program for individuals with or without disabilities where everyone, regardless of ability, is encouraged to participate on the field of athletic competition. ATC is a sanctioned Special Olympics organization and is the only program in a five-county area that offers such a unique approach to athletics where everyone is given the opportunity to become a rising star.

In early 2014, All-Star Training Club became the newest member of the United Disability Services (UDS) family. In his new role, ATC Founder Dan Lancianese will continue to work closely with athletes, families and volunteers to promote the benefits of fun and fitness for everyone.

United Disability Services is celebrating 65 years of enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by providing opportunities for full participation in the community. For more information about any of our other programs and services visit us at

Special Olympics

Congratulations Special Olympians!

UDS All-Star Training Club sent 103 athletes, coaches and partners to Columbus last month for the State Special Olympic finals in five different sports. When the weekend was complete, UDS All-Star Training Club earned 25 gold, 13 silver and 6 bronze medals. We were entered in 59 events and ATC was the third largest program in the state of Ohio - only Franklin County Board of DD and Franklin County Schools in Columbus were larger than our program.

There were two highlights worth noting. First, the ATC #1 soccer team defeated the Deepwood County team out of Lake, Ohio in dramatic fashion. (This team has beaten us three years in a row for the gold). The game ended in a 0-0 tie. ATC #1 won the gold by winning 2-1 on penalty kicks.

The other highlight of the weekend was the introduction of ATC gymnastics to the state games. We had three young ladies represented in five events and we captured three gold medals! Abby, Jenna and Elise made UDS All- Star Training Club proud!

Congratulations to all of the UDS All-Star Training Club State Special Olympians.
